Instagram Flags Picture of Gay Dads as Graphic Content

In a move that created quite the stir, Instagram flagged a picture of gay dads and their baby as “graphic content” and “sensitive content” despite having no graphic, violent, or sexual content in the image.  The picture was posted showing two husbands with their newborn baby, Jude, in the promotion of a conference being hosted in Berlin by Men Having Babies

Instagram censored the image by covering it with a black message screen, which required users to click the image to be able to view it.   It was only after being contacted by the organization did Meta, which owns Instagram and Facebook, restore the image and apologize for the error.  It is unknown if the action was done by an automated system or was flagged by a user, as surrogacy is outlawed in Germany.
